Nammura Ramayana’ is a Kannada conceptual satirical play, which showcases the contrast between dark and light inside us and outside the society. The story starts with the narration of two mask traders who visits Ayodhyapura during the Hindu festival ‘Sankranti’. Purchasing cruel-looking masks and throwing in front of a quarter fire is the tradition of the festival. The reason for the tradition is the story, which revolves around vague characters, who has their own style of life leading principles. Ramayana here is completely a different one contrasting to the concept of ‘Rama Rajya’ which leads to the diplomatic downfall of a kingdom illustrated to be a virtuous realm. The play has completed 6 successful shows.
ರಾಮರಾಜ್ಯ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಯ ತದ್ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಚಿತ್ರಣ ಹೊಂದಿ ವಿಲಾಸಿ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯವೊಂದು ಹೇಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ, ಭೌತಿಕ, ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಕತೆಯ ಸ್ವಾರಸ್ಯ . ವಿಲಾಸದ ಬದುಕು ಅಂತ್ಯಕಾಲದ ಮುನ್ನುಡಿಯಾಗುವ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯು ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡಗಿದೆ. ಸುಮಾರು 12 ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಟಕ ಕಂಡಿದೆ
